I dont want to snow on anybody's parade or anything, but advent actually started last Sunday week. What you are talking about is the first day in December, which happens to coincide with the first day on those open-the-door-and-find-a-chocolate calendars, miscalled advent calendars, when they are just month calendars.
Hello Anonymous! you do of course speak the truth, the way it falls we should all have been lighting our little candles already, the snowy excitment led to seasonal excitment despite trying to lay off too many Christmas related posts, happy belated advent might have been better!

It hasn't STOPPED snowing in Sheffield over 4 days! Crazy, we have over 30 cm of snow in our back garden. *sadface* angels in the snow are a life risk :P
