  1. Hi Rose!
Yes - can't wait: wish I had legs like Keeley Hawes...

  2. Hi Linda! Even less time to go now! Yeah she's a lucky girl, married a very talented man and gets to relive the good bits of the 80s with Phil Glenister!

  3. I have to work tonight so I'll be downloading... um, I mean 'taping', yes, that's right.... this for later!
I'm really looking forward to it, especially after I read that the plot involves a death by auto-erotic asphyxiation. Can you imagine what The Gene Genie will make of that? ;-)

  4. Tania- the Gene Genie seemed suitably baffled and disgusted!!
I enjoyed the first episode of series 2. They're obviously introducing some new threads so I felt a bit blind but I think it's going to be very interesting from the trailer for next week- quite a bit grittier I think!

  5. Rose,
I finally managed to watch it. Yes, his attitude was amusing!
I have to say though, I hated him for a bit when he went with Alex to talk to the dead cop's wife. I know Gene is a bully, but that scene almost made me hate him! What ARE the writers doing to my Gene Genie? ;-)

  6. Hi Tania, isn't i- player wonderful.

I know, there are times when he crosses the line but he normally makes ammends quickly- he didn't that time. I was upset about that and I was also upset with Ray for taking the money from the club owner.

I got the impression that this series was going to have tougher storylines which will be interesting but we still want our Manc Lion hero!

  7. Rose,
exactly! I like my bad boys redeemable, or at least with a little bit of good in them.

I think it was clumsy writing, letting Gene and Ray cross those lines.... Oh well. We'll see what tonight's turns out like.

  8. Hi Tania,
Gene was so redeemed last night! so much tension between him and Alex and I was so happy when he confided in her... I sort of suspected he was playing along with the Mason's thing as it just doesn't seem like his thing... but I was getting seriously worried.

Loved the Phil Collins track with the moodiness and the lights going off in the ceiling! all very, so very 80s!!

Ray is turning out to be a bit of a villain at the moment- hopefully he will redeem himself too at some point.
