Nigella's chocolate Guinness cake is all I can think about. Just look at that glorious cream cheese frosting and the blackness of the cake, the dark, rich, velvet density.
Just finished my (rather boring) salad, feeling healthy (but like something is missing) and then see your blog, and this cake, and oh... I just want to flop my face into it. Is that wrong?!
Wow! This looks awesome - one to try out for sure. I've been meaning to ask, how did you find your holiday books? Especially the American Wife - that was the one I suggested.
Hi Baby! Er no... but in my defence I only tried it myself a few weeks ago- although the version I tried was without frosting- still amazing
Hi Emily- yes. quite.
Hi Jayne- no absolutely not. I think we can get you a prescription for a boring lunch cure (ie Guinness goodness cake)
Hi Joan- well true that is a problem- but the darkness, the sheer blackness of this is quite something- the melting one is very good too though
Hi LBV- oh yes
Hi Elle- it's in the Fest book I understand (not affiliated!)
Hi Bellatrix- that is how I felt when I saw it
Hi BN- good luck, me neither really but the desire for cake makes me better than i ever though I could be
Hi Slowdown- I'm really sorry I have been meaning to update- I only managed Eat Pray Love! The holiday was brilliant but just so so busy and I had realised how awful the jet lag would be- I was literally either out or spark out asleep on a sun lounger- so I am still to read
Hi Christina- I think it looks so impressive as well as tasting good (though as I said above I haven't had it with the icing/ frosting)
Hi Mystica- why thanks and yes you're right- We have similar hair and curves actually- but not similar bank balances

Have you ever made this? Every time I come across it in her book I wonder what it tastes like. It looks so damn yummy.
All I can say is WOW!

I've often been tempted to bake this cake but keep being distracted by Nigella's other chocolate cakes...

never heard of this but MAN does it look amazing.
Why I just saw this?? :)
Finally... now, will this work...
I love this cake and am going to try to find the way to make it - I am no cook !!! But I can smell it already .....

Wow! That looks great! I haven't baked a cake in years but I fancy giving this a try xx
